Vancouver, Canada – July 16, 2026 – TheNewswire - Onco-Innovations Limited (CBOE CA: ONCO) (OTCQB: ONNVF) (Frankfurt: W1H, WKN: A3EKSZ) ("Onco" or the "Company”) announces, further to its news release dated May 8, 2026, the initiation of key absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion ("ADME") studies for ONC010, the Company's lead nanoparticle-formulated Polynucleotide Kinase Phosphatase (PNKP) inhibitor. The studies are designed to characterize ONC010's pharmacokinetic and metabolic profile and support the continued IND-enabling development of the program.
The initial ADME work is focused on metabolism of the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) in the ONC010 lead drug candidate. These data are intended to support the Company's broader development strategy by informing manufacturing activities, formulation optimization, toxicology studies and future clinical translation. The studies are expected to contribute to the growing body of preclinical evidence supporting the continued advancement of ONC010 toward clinical evaluation.
"Initiating these ADME studies represents another important step in our systematic advancement of ONC010. A thorough understanding of how a therapeutic candidate is absorbed, distributed, metabolized and eliminated is fundamental to successful drug development," said Thomas O'Shaughnessy, Chief Executive Officer of Onco-Innovations.
The ADME studies form part of Onco-Innovations’ broader IND-enabling development program for ONC010, which also includes manufacturing, formulation, safety and regulatory activities intended to support future clinical evaluation.
"ADME studies play a critical role in evaluating the clinical potential of an investigational oncology therapy. The data generated through this program are expected to provide valuable information to support dose selection, safety assessment and overall development planning. These studies will further strengthen the scientific foundation of the ONC010 program as we continue progressing toward clinical translation," said Dr. Islam Mohamed, Chief Medical Officer of Onco-Innovations.
About ONC010
ONC010 is a novel nanoparticle-formulated inhibitor of Polynucleotide Kinase Phosphatase (PNKP), a key DNA damage repair enzyme. The program is being developed to exploit vulnerabilities in cancer cells dependent on DNA repair pathways and is intended to provide a differentiated therapeutic approach for patients with difficult-to-treat malignancies.
