Fitzroy Minerals Hits Significant Copper-Molybdenum-Gold-Rhenium Mineralization at Caballos Project
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- March 27, 2025 -- NewsGenie -- Fitzroy Minerals Inc. announced promising results from its initial drill hole at the Caballos Copper Project in Chile, revealing significant copper-molybdenum-gold-rhenium mineralization.
The first hole, CAB-DDH001, intersected 200 meters grading 0.46% Cu, 591 ppm Mo, 0.07 g/t Au, (0.83% CuEq), from 66 meters, including higher-grade sections of 98 meters @ 0.78% Cu, 1071 ppm Mo, 0.12 g/t Au, (1.45% CuEq), from 151 meters, and 42 meters @ 1.20% Cu, 1764 ppm Mo, 0.23 g/t Au, (2.31% CuEq) from 188 meters. Rhenium analysis returned 85 m @ 0.38 ppm Re, with a maximum value of 2.42 ppm Re, among the highest in Chile.
CEO Merlin Marr-Johnson highlighted the potential of a new copper-molybdenum-gold-rhenium system. The mineralization is associated with a hydrothermal breccia along the Pocuro Fault Zone. The company plans additional drill holes to further explore the project.
The Caballos Project includes the Chincolco and Mule Hill anomalies. Drill hole CAB-DDH001 targeted the Chincolco Creek anomaly. Mule Hill, located five kilometers north, exhibits similar characteristics with a 1,300 m-long soil and rock Cu (Mo-Au) anomaly.
Assay results from CAB-DDH001 showed an interval of 200 m @ 0.46% Cu, 591 ppm Mo, and 0.07 g/t Au, from a depth of 66 meters. A higher-grade section yielded 98.0 m @ 0.78 % Cu, 1,071 ppm Mo, and 0.12 g/t Au (1.45% CuEq) from 151 meters, including 42.0 m @ 1.20% Cu, 1,764 ppm Mo, 0.23 g/t Au (2.31% CuEq) from 187 meters.
The mineralization includes chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and pyrite within the PFZ breccia, with varying amounts of silica, tourmaline, albite, and K-feldspar. True widths are estimated at 75% of down-hole intervals. Next steps involve step-out drilling to test the extent of the Chincolco mineralization.
Fitzroy Minerals focuses on exploring and developing mineral assets in the Americas, including the Caballos Copper and Polimet Gold-Copper-Silver projects in Chile, the Taquetren Gold project in Argentina, and the Cariboo project in British Columbia, Canada.
