Ecolomondo Advances Scrap Tire Recycling with New Milling Line Installation

Montreal, QC -- February 18, 2025 -- NewsGenie -- Ecolomondo Corporation (TSXV: ECM) (OTCQB: ECLMF), a frontrunner in sustainable scrap tire recycling technology, has provided an update on the installation of its new milling line and overall progress at the Hawkesbury TDP facility.

The company received the milling line in late January 2025, following preparations that began in October 2024. Ecolomondo reports that the installation is progressing on schedule and within budget.

Installation involves positioning, connection to power, dust collection, and air compression systems, as well as magnetic separators and conveying systems. It also requires integration with Ecolomondo’s control network.

Ecolomondo anticipates completing the mill installation in March 2025, with commissioning to follow soon after. Recovered carbon black (rCB) production is slated to begin in April 2025, with a gradual ramp-up expected by the fourth quarter of 2025.

The automated milling line is expected to process 2,200 lbs per hour of rCB with a particle size distribution of 90% between 10-15 microns. The processing capacity of the new milling line should more than satisfy the production capacity of rCB produced at the Hawkesbury plant.

The Hawkesbury facility has performed its 100th batch at full capacity in January 2025, processing approximately 130,000 end-of-life tires, yielding approximately 900,000 gallons of tire-derived oil, 460,000 lbs of recovered carbon black and 200,000 lbs of steel.

The company recently bolstered its Hawkesbury staff to 27 employees. Mr. Aarian Hosein has been appointed Director of Operations, Mr. Steve Rampersad has been promoted to Facility Maintenance Lead, and Mr. Yash Gajjar has been promoted to Site Production Engineer. Mr. Hari Mynampati will retain his role as Global Sales Director End-Products, and his role will be expanded to Global TDP Sales.

Jean-François Labbé, Interim CEO, stated that achieving this milestone will bring the Company to final commissioning of the Hawkesbury TDP facility and its commercialization.

Ecolomondo’s Hawkesbury facility is expected to process over 1.5M of scrap tires per year and produce 4,500 MT of recovered carbon black, 5,400 MT of oil, 2,250 MT of steel, and to process 1,350 MT of process gas. The Shamrock facility is projected at 5 million end-of-life tires per year. Facility construction is expected to begin by the third quarter of 2025 and projected to cost approximately US$93 million.

Ecolomondo has received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for its Hawkesbury TDP facility. By producing rCB, TDP reduces GHG emissions by 90% versus the production of virgin carbon black. The production of rCB at the Hawkesbury and Shamrock facilities are expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 15,000 and 45,000 tons per year, respectively.
