Fitzroy Minerals Hits Significant Sulphide Mineralization at Caballos Project
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- February 10, 2025 -- NewsGenie -- FITZROY MINERALS INC. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQB: FTZFF) has announced a successful drill hole at its Caballos Copper Project in Chile, intersecting wide intervals of sulphide mineralization. The drill hole, reaching a depth of 350 meters, cut through the Pocuro Fault Zone (PFZ) and hit 185.7 meters of disseminated sulphides (chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and pyrite) within 251.0 meters of tectonic and hydrothermal breccias.
The company has also commenced its Phase 1 drilling program at the Polimet Gold-Copper-Silver Project, designed to test a series of targets based on structural setting, assay results, alteration, and geophysical conductors. The program will consist of seven holes totaling 2,500 metres.
According to Merlin Marr-Johnson, CEO and President, the 186 meters of sulphides at Caballos, including a 73-meter interval of stronger mineralization, is promising. He also noted the start of drilling at Polimet, an epithermal gold-copper-silver system, with previous samples showing grades as high as 43 g/t gold and 7.8% copper.
At Caballos, the drill hole, angled at 260 degrees with a 70-degree dip, revealed varying amounts of chalcopyrite, molybdenite, and pyrite within the hydrothermal breccia. A 73.0 m sub-interval (from 154.0 m to 227.0 m) contained greater sulphide abundance. Core samples are being prepared for assay, with results expected in March 2025.
