Nectar AI Secures $3.9 Million to Expand Immersive AI Companions
New York, NY -- August 1, 2024 -- NewsGenie -- Nectar AI, an immersive AI companionship platform, has successfully raised $3.9 million in a seed funding round. The round was co-led by Mechanism Capital and Karatage, with participation from Synergis, Maelstrom (Arthur Hayes), Builder Capital, Baboon, and Decima. Angel investors included Tekin Salimi and George Lambeth (Dao5), Albert Chon (Injective), Charles Lu (Espresso Systems), and Gabby Dizon (YGG).
The funding will be used to expand the team, focusing on AI and protocol expertise, and to facilitate new partnerships. Nectar AI aims to enable users to create AI companions that are virtually indistinguishable from reality. The platform uses generative AI and web3 to allow users to create customizable, uncensored AI companions in realistic or anime styles, responding with images or text. Generative AI video creation is currently available, with advanced video and voice features planned. Future developments include porting companions on-chain, granting users IP ownership and monetization capabilities.
Currently, Nectar AI has over 500,000 users. The platform allows users to create AI stories and companions, enabling dynamic role-playing experiences. One user praised the platform's ability to transform photos into companions, inspiring creative projects such as music videos. Co-founders Keccak and Zi, met at Stanford and started the project in August 2023. They are developing a protocol for financializing on-chain AI agents, to be released later this year. Nectar AI's mission is to become a leading decentralized platform for AI assets, delivering an integrated on- and off-chain experience.
