Nexus Gold Updates Exploration Activities in Canada and West Africa
Vancouver, Canada -- September 17, 2020 -- NewsGenie -- Nexus Gold Corp. (TSXV:NXS) (OTC:NXXGF) (FSE:N6E) has provided an update on its ongoing exploration activities across its projects in Burkina Faso and Canada.
Dakouli 2 Gold Concession, Burkina Faso
Recent reconnaissance at the Dakouli 2 Gold Concession revealed a mineralized footprint extending over 400 meters east-west and 200 meters north-south. Selective grab samples from artisanal shafts, ranging from 30 to 70 meters deep, assayed up to 98.9 g/t Au. Eleven out of 40 grab samples exceeded 10 g/t Au, with notable samples including 27.5, 29.5, and 49.7 g/t Au. The company is planning a maiden drill program for later this fall.
McKenzie Gold Project, Red Lake, Ontario
The first drill campaign at the McKenzie Gold project replicated historical gold-bearing vein intercepts, including assays between 3.42 g/t Au and 7.43 g/t Au over half-meter to 1.5-meter lengths, and a higher-grade intercept of 2.75 meters at 13.25 g/t Au. Phase two drilling yielded significant mineralized intercepts, including 117.4 meters of .33 g/t Au and 117.5 meters of .62 g/t Au. Follow-up drill programs are planned, including testing the island portion of the property, where historic grab samples graded up to 331 g/t Au.
Dorset Gold Project – Newfoundland
Leocor Gold (CSE: LECR), Nexus’ earn-in partner, has been conducting reconnaissance work at the Dorset project, including clearing showings, collecting samples, trenching, and mapping drill locations. Prospecting results are expected in the coming weeks. Nexus is also planning groundwork at its other Newfoundland projects.
