Tocvan Ventures Initiates Next Exploration Phase at Pilar Gold-Silver Project
Calgary, Alberta -- February 19, 2021 -- NewsGenie -- Tocvan Ventures Corp. (CSE:TOC) has commenced the next phase of exploration at its Pilar Gold-Silver Project. This phase includes detailed mapping and sampling across key target areas, with the goal of advancing these targets to drill-ready status for a planned Phase II drilling program in the coming months.
Key target areas include the Main Zone Extension and the 4-Trench Zone:
- Main Zone Extension: An 800-meter southeast extension of the Main Zone, highlighted by historic drillhole JES-18-03, which yielded 13.5 m @ 5.6 g/t Au and 22 g/t Ag. The area also features 800 meters of anomalous soils with gold values ranging from 106 ppb to 911 ppb, and rock grab samples including 9.3 g/t Au and 76 g/t Ag.
- 4-Trench Zone: A 600-meter trend that includes the 4-Trench Zone, noted for historic drillhole K-16 with 7.5 m @ 3.3 g/t Au and 31 g/t Ag. It also features 600 meters of anomalous soils with gold values ranging from 118 ppb to 2,030 ppb, rock grab samples including 24 g/t Au and 116 g/t Ag, and a network of historic artisanal workings.
VP Exploration Brodie Sutherland commented, "The results released last week for our Phase I drill program show the potential to grow the known extent of mineralization at depth and along strike... Detailed mapping and sampling of the surface expressions of these structures will aid in drill targeting as we move towards a Phase II drill program."

The Pilar Gold-Silver property is interpreted as a structurally controlled low-sulphidation epithermal project hosted in andesite and rhyolite rocks. Three zones of mineralization have been identified: the Main Zone, North Hill, and 4 Trench. Over 19,200 m of drilling have been completed to date.
Significant historic results include:
- 17,700m of Historic Core RC drilling, with highlights such as 0.8 g/t Au over 61 m and 53.5g/t Au 53 g/t Ag over 16.5 m.
- 2,650m of surface and trench channel sampling, including 55 g/t Au over 3 m and 28.6 g/t Au over 6 m.
- Soil and Rock sampling results indicating mineralization extends towards the southeast from the Main Zone, North Hill Zone, and 4-Trench Zone.
Brodie A. Sutherland, P.Geo., VP Exploration for Tocvan Ventures Corp., has reviewed and approved the technical information in this release.
