Canary Gold Advances Exploration at Madeira River Project with Initial Drill Testing

Vancouver, British Columbia -- March 28, 2025 -- NewsGenie -- Canary Gold Corp. (CSE: BRAZ, Frankfurt: K5D) has announced it is commencing initial drill testing at its Madeira River Gold Project in Rondônia, Brazil. The project encompasses 684.45 square kilometers of exploration ground south of Porto Velho.

The company is targeting gold mineralization associated with paleochannel deposits within the Madeira River system. Gold is found in gravel, quartz-pebble conglomerate, and a limonite-siderite rich duricrust locally named "Mocururu."

Exploration Highlights

  • Discovery and sampling of the "Mocururu" horizon within Canary’s tenements.
  • Sampling of the "Mocururu" horizon within the old "Zelia" garimpo outside Canary’s tenements.
  • Review of gold occurrences in areas influenced by the Madeira River system.
  • Reprocessing and interpretation of geophysical data.
  • Advancing initial drill targeting and planning.

The company is conducting reconnaissance and drill testing of targets under shallow sedimentary cover. A key find was the identification of potentially gold-bearing "Mocururu" horizon occurrences within Canary’s tenements. Two distinct "Mocururu" horizon types were identified: a compact, non-magnetic sediment with angular quartz clasts in a ferruginized matrix, and a friable, non-magnetic sediment with angular quartz clasts in a non-ferruginized matrix. Samples have been submitted for analysis.

Mapping and sampling at the historical Zelia Garimpo, located ~10km outside Canary’s tenements, provided geological context for refining exploration strategies. Local support was provided by government and informal organizations.

Geophysical Data Review

Canary is reprocessing geophysical data to identify basement structures and sedimentary features that influence paleochannel formation and gold deposition.

Geological Context

Analysis of the Madeira River drainage system suggests an orogenic influence on sediment supply, with gold-bearing sands and pebble gravels deposited and reworked over millions of years. Structural controls likely created zones where heavy minerals accumulated.

Q2- 2025 Work Program

Canary Gold plans to commence a drilling phase in Q2-2025 to evaluate gold targets preserved below shallow cover, subject to permitting.

Andrew Lee Smith, P.Geo., a Qualified Person, has reviewed and approved the technical information related to the Madeira River Project.
