First Tellurium's Deer Horn Project Shows Promising Results
Vancouver, BC -- March 7, 2024 -- NewsGenie -- First Tellurium Corp. (CSE:FTEL), (OTC:FSTTF) has released encouraging results from its 2023 exploration at the Deer Horn gold-silver-tellurium and copper porphyry project in British Columbia. The work included property-wide prospecting, mapping, and limited drilling.
Prospecting and mapping, which included 125 samples, revealed high values, including 48.2 ppm gold, 292 ppm silver, and 407 ppm tellurium. Technical Consultant Dr. Lee Groat noted the Main Te-Ag-Au Vein extends across the property, near a copper porphyry, suggesting a large mineral system.
Assays, prepared by ALS Labs, showed a high copper value of 8,310 ppm and molybdenum above the detection limit. Maps indicate elevated levels of copper, molybdenum, tellurium, gold, and tungsten in the west, with silver high in both the east and west. Dr. Groat believes the porphyry is the source of the mineralization and confirmed a large, E-W trending thrust fault is the primary structure within the Deer Horn property.
One drill hole (FTEL-23-01) reached 357 ft at the Pond copper porphyry location but was limited by regional wildfires. The hole showed altered granodiorite with porphyritic andesite dikes. President and CEO Tyrone Docherty said the hole provided valuable information, extending the mineralized zone across 17.5 square kilometers.
Drill core samples showed the highest copper and silver values at 204 ppm and 0.46 ppm, respectively. The highest tellurium value was 0.06 ppm, molybdenum at 6.24 ppm, and tungsten at 5.9 ppm. Gold was below the detection limit.
Docherty confirmed the drill remains on site for the upcoming season, with plans to engage a second drill. The Company’s disclosure of technical or scientific information related to the Deer Horn Project in this news release was reviewed and approved by Dr. Lee Groat, Ph.D, P.Geo, Technical Advisor to First Tellurium, who is a qualified person within the context of NI 43-101.
First Tellurium's business model focuses on mineral discovery, project development, and sustainable exploration, aligning with Indigenous communities.
