Toronto, Canada -- October 6, 2021 -- NewsGenie -- Liquid Avatar Technologies Inc. and the Ontario Convenience Stores Association (OCSA) have partnered to introduce Smart Age, a digital age verification program for Ontario convenience stores. The initiative aims to streamline the sale of age-restricted products using Liquid Avatar's LAVCE platform.
The Smart Age program will feature in-store awareness campaigns and digital verification at purchase, integrating with point-of-sale systems to confirm customer age without exchanging personal information. A working group is being formed to develop best practices for c-store implementation, with subscription and pay-as-you-go models planned.
Dave Bryans, CEO of the OCSA, emphasized the importance of verification for age-restricted products and the goal of achieving a 100% success rate. He believes the Smart Age solution will modernize the sector and enhance trust within communities.
Liquid Avatar Technologies' LAVCE platform supports digital credentials for age verification, aligning with Ontario's move towards digital government ID credentials. CEO David Lucatch sees the platform as ideal for small businesses, providing a cost-efficient tool to verify patron age.
The agreement allows for a customized digital age-verification solution for Ontario convenience stores, potentially expanding to other regions and industries like hospitality. Liquid Avatar Technologies is also partnering with the Toronto Region Board of Trade's We’re Ready Toronto initiative to support a safe reopening, offering workshops on digital credentials.
The Liquid Avatar Wallet mobile app is available on Google Play and the App Store.
