Angkor Resources Identifies Drill Targets at Wild Boar Gold Prospect
GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA -- October 18, 2023 -- NewsGenie -- Angkor Resources Corp. has announced defined drill targets at its Wild Boar gold prospect. A drilling program is slated to commence in early December, pending sufficient subsidence of recent rains.
Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, stated that assay results indicate a large anomaly across an area roughly 2 km long by 1.5 km wide. Grab samples from the geophysical anomaly define a north-south target for the upcoming drill program. He added that the low sulphidation model of epithermal veins shows increased sulphide content with depth, approaching a potential high-grade "bonanza" mineralization area. The Wild Boar target shows increased chargeability below 185 meters, suggesting that drilling through the resistive zones at depth could confirm the deposit model.
The Wild Boar prospect is an epithermal gold target. An induced polarization survey revealed two thin, north-to-south trending zones of moderate resistivity with low to moderate chargeability on their flanks. The chargeability anomaly intensifies with depth, consistent with epithermal veins or vein swarms within a silica-altered zone, potentially with pyrite-altered areas on the flanks. A deep trenching program followed in concentrated map areas to gather more data.
