March 25, 2021 - Vancouver, BC - TheNewswire
Stratocom Solutions (the “Company”) is pleased to provide a corporate update and review to Indocorp stakeholders. In 2020, despite the surging global pandemic, Stratocom continued to serve its aerial meter reading clients in Alberta while strategically focusing on expanding operations outside of the province.
Highlights for the Company from 2020 include:
-
- The Company is pleased to report that the Stratocom team has successfully renewed all current customer contracts under new increased pricing levels and favorable commitment terms.
-
- Stratocom is pleased to report that the Company has secured three new customers under the latest structure, including introducing a strategic power company to its client base.
-
- The Company secured a $30,000 matching grant provided over two years from the Mitacs Accelerated Program, a Canada-wide academic initiative in conjunction with the University of British Columbia (“UBC”) and its Department of Engineering. This important grant provided Stratocom with a UBC Masters engineering student to work exclusively with Stratocom towards optimizing its proprietary data capture antenna technology with additional focus on achieving its strategic goals and initiatives.
-
- Stratocom Solutions was selected by Itron Inc.; a provider of secure solutions for utility companies and cities with over 8,000 customers in more than 100 countries to install the Company’s encoder receiver transmitters (“ERT”) on 22,000 gas utility meters, with a contract value of $650,000 CAD, located in northwest British Columbia on behalf of PNG (Pacific Natural Gas Ltd.) which owns and operates natural gas transmission and distribution systems in B.C. and is part of the Alta Gas Group of companies. This contract will be completed by the end of the second quarter.
-
- Stratocom has developed a professional team with the expertise for installing ERTs, providing Stratocom additional revenue sources through further installation contracts and subsequent meter reading agreements in British Columbia. The installation of the ERT units has allowed for automated reading capabilities of those components for the client.

Stratocom engaged with Consumer Energy, a publicly traded utility that provides natural gas to 6.7 million of the State of Michigan’s 10 million residents. The company serves customers in all 68 of the state’s Lower Peninsula counties. In 2020, Stratocom provided a demonstration of its aerial data collection equipment to Consumer Energy. Stratocom is pleased with its technologically superior equipment and in fact the first flight test successfully supported data collection rates far superior than historically driving sessions.
Stratocom Solutions is well positioned to capitalize upon additional contracts both in local markets and beyond. The Company has undertaken the necessary initiatives to be engaged to secure new contracts and exceed the demands placed upon the Company and its team members.
