Kurt Sorschak Honoured as the 2018 Cleantech Leader
-Canada’s Clean50/Clean16 Awards Just Announced-
Kurt Sorschak, President and CEO, Xebec Adsorption Inc.
MONTREAL, QC / TheNewswire / Sept 21, 2017 - Xebec Adsorption Inc. (TSXV: XBC) (“Xebec”), a global provider of gas generation, purification, and filtration solutions, proudly congratulates its leader, Kurt Sorschak, President and CEO, for being recognized as the 2018 leader in the “Cleantech” category of Canada’s Clean50/Clean16 Awards.
Canada’s Clean50 Awards, announced annually by Delta Management Group and the Clean50 organization, recognize 50 individuals or teams from 16 different categories who have done the most to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada over the past 2 years.
According to Gavin Pitchford, CEO, Delta Management Group, “The process to narrow down to just 50 Honourees this year was extremely difficult – there are many wonderful and committed leaders in organizations across Canada, working in many different fields, who are concerned about the course of Canada’s future if we don’t all take action quickly. These individuals rarely wait for regulations to drive their organizations forward – they lead by example and strategically harness sustainability as a force for innovation within their organizations. The individuals we chose for the Clean50 this year are true leaders, an inspiration for all Canadians.
Further, the 2018 Clean16 are truly the leaders of the leaders. The competition for the top spot this year in every instance left us with many great choices - and to be selected from amongst such a strong group of peers is truly a testament to the contribution Kurt has made to helping make Canada more sustainable for all Canadians.”
Under Kurt’s leadership, Xebec developed gas processes for biogas upgrading to renewable natural gas (RNG) that moved the company to the forefront in the industry with recovery rates of 99%. Through its proprietary technology of fast cycle pressure swing adsorption (PSA) systems, Xebec provides its customers leading methane recovery rates while offering low operating costs for the highest profit potential.
RNG has become one of America’s most important biofuels since receiving eligibility under the U.S. Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) as a cellulosic biofuel in 2014. Biogas-derived RNG now represents more than 95 percent of the cellulosic biofuels produced under the RFS. Domestic RNG projects have since doubled, and the future is more than promising.
Kurt will be amongst approximately 120 past and incoming Clean50 Honourees meeting on Thursday, September 28th, at the Clean50 Summit 7.0 on Toronto Island, to spend a day amongst peers and colleagues tackling common sustainability challenges”.
