The Calgary Flames And TEPF Team Up For Memorable School Visit. Flames Players and Harvey the Hound Meet Excited Students

Calgary, Alberta / TheNewswire / January 31, 2018 — At 1:30pm on February 2nd, The Educational Partnership Foundation (TEPF) and Calgary Flames will visit a gymnasium packed full of excited students awaiting their hockey heroes at St. Peter School to reward the school for their participation in Reading…Give it a Shot!  Harvey the Hound was joined by the voice of the Calgary Flames, Beesley, as well as players Matt Bartkowski, Michael Frolik and Michael Stone.

Reading…Give it a Shot! is a program that encourages students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 to develop a love of reading, improve their reading skills and have some fun.  Flames players will answer questions from students followed by signing autographs. This initiative boosts literacy, complements existing reading programs and encourages parents to share in their children's reading. Last season, over 25,000 students participated in the Reading…Give It a Shot! program.

Sponsors, ConocoPhillips Canada and DATA Communications Management were unable to attend, but in attendance will be TEPF representatives, and one of the main sponsors, Checker Courier.

Checker Courier, a division of The Checker Transportation Group, is pleased and honoured to be part of Reading…Give it a Shot since 2009. We are proud to encourage children to read, especially with the technological challenges in today’s world” Says Frank Formella of The Checker Transportation Group.
