CALGARY / TheNewswire / The Educational Partnership Foundation’s (TEPF) Links & Legends Golf Tournament has had another successful year. On Monday, August 14th, over 100 sponsors, golfers, volunteers and TEPF staff members came together at the Valley Ridge Golf Course and raise over $100,000 dollars from their silent and live auction, fund-a-need, sponsorships, registrations, generous donations and so much more. All of the money raised goes towards six partner school districts and 220,000 students in Alberta supported by TEPF.

 

The Educational Partnership Foundation wants to thank everyone that attended and supported this amazing cause. ConocoPhillips Canada has been a supporter of the Links & Legends Golf Tournament for ten years, and TEPF appreciates their gracious generosity. “ConocoPhillips is pleased to support TEPF and its many initiatives,” says Michael Hatfield, President, ConocoPhillips Canada. “It is through fundraising efforts like the Links & Legends golf tournament that TEPF is able to help students grow their confidence, knowledge and skills to become creative and thoughtful leaders.”

 

For 16 years there has always been support from the Calgary community, and because of them students like Peyton Morrison, a Calgary Board of Education Grade 6 student, was able to find a love for reading, even through struggling to read for her first five years in school. Peyton said, “In grade three, I was tested and found out I had a learning disability so reading and spelling are extra hard for me… In grade 5 my teacher Miss. Cross introduced my class to Reading… Give it a Shot!... [and] when I was tested at the end of the program, I had improved two and a half grade levels in my reading and found a new love of reading.”
