Cascade Copper Corp. Commences Maiden Drilling at Centrefire Copper-Gold Project
Vancouver, British Columbia – June 23, 2026 – Leads & Copy – Cascade Copper Corp. has commenced its maiden drilling program at the Centrefire Copper-Gold Project, located approximately 40 kilometres from Dryden, Ontario. The initial drill hole, CF-26-01, is targeting a high-priority copper-gold Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) target identified through geophysical inversion modelling, historical drilling, and surface mineralization sampling.
Encouragingly, the first boxes of core from Hole CF-26-01 have already encountered sulphide mineralization, providing early confirmation of the target area. Jeffrey Ackert, President and CEO of Cascade Copper, stated that the commencement of drilling marks a significant milestone for the company, offering the first opportunity to systematically test the project's high-priority targets. Vice President of Exploration, Shannon Baird, is on-site to oversee the program, allowing for continuous review of the core and flexibility to extend holes if necessary.
Hole CF-26-01 is designed to intersect EM Plate 1980_flat, which has a conductivity-thickness (c-t) value of 495, considered highly anomalous as values above 400 are deemed significant. The drill hole also targets a highly magnetic zone coincident with the 1980_flat conductor. Hole CF-26-01 is anticipated to reach a depth of approximately 200 metres.
The 2,500-hectare Centrefire Cu-Au Project is situated in the Wabigoon Greenstone Belt in Northwestern Ontario, about 40 kilometres northeast of Dryden and 35 kilometres southwest of Sioux Lookout. Previous exploration by Phelps Dodge between 1968 and 1970 identified several stacked intervals of copper, gold, and nickel mineralization in the majority of drill holes. More recent work by Cascade has confirmed surface mineralization and refined geophysical interpretations, defining priority drill targets. Surface sampling has previously returned assays up to 2.86% copper, 2.84 g/t gold, and 23.5 g/t silver.
The technical information within this news release was prepared and approved by Shannon Baird, P.Geo., Vice President Exploration of Cascade Copper Corp. and a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Management has cautioned that visual core observations and grab samples are selective and not necessarily representative of the entire drill hole or property, nor indicative of overall grade. Assay results are pending, and the visual identification of minerals does not guarantee economic grades, pending laboratory confirmation.
Cascade Copper is an exploration-stage natural resource company focused on evaluating, acquiring, and exploring copper-based mineral resource properties. The company's exploration efforts target copper and gold porphyry and mesothermal gold deposits in British Columbia, and VMS and BIF copper, gold, and silver-style deposits in Ontario. Cascade Copper utilizes modern exploration technologies, including 3D inversion modelling of geophysics, LiDAR elevation models, and AI-enhanced predictive modelling. Drilling is planned on several of its copper-gold targets this year. The company has five projects, including the Copper Plateau Copper-Moly Project, the Centrefire Copper-Gold Project, the Rogers Creek Copper-Gold Project, the Fire Mountain Copper-Gold Project, and the Bendor Gold-Tungsten Project.
