Heritage Mining Confirms Visible Gold at Melba Mine Project
VANCOUVER, BC — March 12, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Heritage Mining Ltd. has confirmed the presence of more visible gold in a core sample from diamond drill hole ML3840-003 at the Melba Mine Project.
The gold was identified at a depth of 72.40 meters within an approximate 8-meter shear zone, according to the company.
The Melba project is currently undergoing a diamond drill program. The visible gold was noted in core samples as millimeter-scale grains hosted in a sheared quartz veinlet within the shear zone, which exhibits synformal folding and strong epidote-silica-chlorite alteration. The target zone is a sheared felsic volcaniclastic and conglomerate contact.
Peter Schloo, President, CEO and Director of Heritage, commented that the identification of a third instance of visible gold within the ~8m shear zone at ~72m depth is very encouraging. He added that the planned depth of ML3840-003 has been extended to approximately 150 meters due to favorable mineralization, with assays pending.
The company intends to update stakeholders on additional exploration results shortly.
The Melba project is located approximately 22 kilometers northeast of Kirkland Lake and 90 kilometers southeast of Timmins in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. The project comprises approximately 3,886 hectares and lies along the Ross Fault, a splay off of the Porcupine-Destor Fault Zone. This area is associated with the McEwen Mine (Grey Fox Mine, +1Moz Au) ~22km away, and the Ross Mine (+1Moz Au) ~16km away.
Heritage Mining adheres to a strict QA/QC protocol for handling, sampling, sample transportation, and analyses, ensuring sample security until delivery at the laboratory.
Drill core is boxed, covered, and sealed at the drill rig site and transported to the onsite logging facility where Company personnel take over the core handling. The core is systematically cut in half using a diamond saw, and a qualified geologist examines the drill core, marking intervals for sampling. Sample lengths are typically 1.0 metre, adjusted to a minimum length of 0.5 metre as necessary.
One half of the core is retained as a witness sample, while the other half is submitted for analysis. Samples are submitted for gold determination by PhotonAssay to Paragon Geochemical - Timmins, an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory. After gold assays are returned, Heritage may choose to perform multi-element assays on selected samples based on the gold results first with Paragon.
