Western Star Resources Engages Environmental Consultants for Nevada Tungsten Property Drill Permitting
Vancouver, British Columbia — June 3, 2026 — Leads & Copy — Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has engaged KC Harvey Environmental, LLC to lead drill-permitting efforts at its wholly-owned Rowland Tungsten Property in Elko County, Nevada. The company has also initiated preliminary discussions with the Mountain City–Ruby Mountains–Jarbidge Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to support a Plan of Operations submission.
KC Harvey, an environmental consultancy based in Bozeman, Montana, specializes in mining permitting, reclamation, and NEPA support throughout the western United States. The firm’s mining services are spearheaded by its founder, Kevin Harvey, M.Sc., a board-certified professional soil scientist and the current President of the American Society of Mining and Reclamation. KC Harvey will be responsible for preparing and submitting a Plan of Operations, utilizing USDA Forest Service form FS-2800-5 under 36 CFR 228A, for Western Star's planned Phase 2 drilling program at Rowland. The consultancy will also assist with the associated National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process.
Key developments include Western Star's engagement of KC Harvey as its permitting consultant for the Rowland Tungsten Property, KC Harvey's commencement of the Plan of Operations preparation for submission to the U.S. Forest Service, and Western Star's initiation of dialogue with the Jarbidge District Ranger of the relevant U.S. Forest Service authority for the Rowland Property.
The permitting work is proceeding concurrently with the company's ongoing Phase 1 exploration program at Rowland. The objective is to position the project for drill testing of the three identified zones of historical tungsten workings. The extensive historical workings at Rowland are expected to aid the company's assertion that the project area is previously disturbed, potentially simplifying the NEPA pathway.
Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated, “Engaging KC Harvey and opening dialogue with the Jarbidge District Ranger is the logical next step for Rowland. With Phase 1 field work confirming a materially larger exploration opportunity than the historical record suggested, our priority is to advance permitting in parallel with exploration so we are positioned to drill test the Rowland targets without delay.”
The Plan of Operations is the primary authorization required from the U.S. Forest Service to conduct drilling on National Forest System lands. KC Harvey's responsibilities encompass preparing the Plan of Operations, supporting environmental baseline and reclamation planning, and coordinating the NEPA review process with the U.S. Forest Service. Western Star plans to advance the application alongside state-level reclamation permitting and its ongoing Phase 1 and Phase 2 exploration programs at Rowland. Further updates will be provided upon submission of the Plan of Operations and as the permitting review progresses.
