Angkor Resources' Subsidiary Receives Ministry of Environment Approval to Drill Four Sub-Basins on Block VIII, Cambodia

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA — September 30, 2026 — Leads & Copy — ANGKOR RESOURCES CORP. (TSXV: ANK OTCQB: ANKOF) announced that Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment has granted final approval for its wholly owned Cambodian energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., to drill exploratory wells on Block VIII onshore oil and gas concession in southwest Cambodia. The approval covers drilling on the Kirirom, Bokor North, Bokor Central and Bokor South sub-basins.

EnerCam and its independent Cambodian consultant, Green Assessment Co., Ltd., submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and drilling permit through an inter-ministerial review at the Ministry of Environment in Phnom Penh on July 14, 2026. The review was attended by more than 26 representatives from five government Ministries and three provinces. With the EIA approved, EnerCam will now proceed to the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) with applications for specific components of the drilling program, including those used in downhole logging and well operations.

The MoE approval encompasses drilling on all four sub-basins, which are situated across Preah Sihanouk, Koh Kong, and Kampong Speu provinces. EnerCam is currently completing due diligence on potential drilling contractors ahead of a tender process. The 70-plus page tender document is subject to review and approval by the MME before publication. Once a drilling contractor is engaged, mobilizing drilling equipment to the sites is expected to take approximately three months.

Mike Weeks, President of EnerCam, stated that the company will now move to the Ministry of Mines and Energy regarding individual components of the drilling program, including well logging and downhole tools. He highlighted the thoroughness of the process with the Ministries and communities, emphasizing its potential to set a precedent for onshore drilling in Cambodia as the sector develops.

Cambodia currently imports 100% of its hydrocarbon-based energy products, making the discovery of a national domestic supply of oil and gas a high priority. EnerCam’s program is poised to be the first privately financed onshore drilling for oil and gas in Cambodia, potentially offsetting the Kingdom’s expenditure on imported hydrocarbon energy.

EnerCam has completed 350 line-kilometers of 2D seismic and identified drill targets across the four sub-basins. The company’s planned 4+1 drill program includes one exploration well in each of the four sub-basins, followed by a fifth well based on the results of the initial wells, all under a Production Sharing Contract. Block VIII covers approximately 4,095 km² in the southwest quadrant of Cambodia under a 30-year Production Sharing Contract with the Royal Government of Cambodia. The company continues to work with the MME on the drilling contractor tender.

ANGKOR Resources Corp. is a public company listed on the TSX-Venture Exchange, focused on resource exploration and development in Cambodia. Its mineral subsidiary, Angkor Gold Corp. Co., Ltd., holds two mineral exploration licenses, while EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd. holds the onshore oil and gas license for Block VIII. The company plans to proceed with drilling Cambodia’s first privately financed onshore exploratory oil and gas wells.
