Coniagas Battery Metals Collaborates with UQAC for Nickel-Copper Sulfide Research at Graal Property
August 20, 2025 — Leads & Copy — Coniagas Battery Metals Inc. (TSXV: COS) is partnering with Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) to study the formation of nickel-copper sulfide at its Graal Property, located within the Lac-Saint-Jean Anorthositic Suite (SALSJ). Laurentia Exploration will continue to manage exploration and advance the permitting process.
The research, a master's project at UQAC led by Professors S. Dare and R-L Simard, will focus on the northern margin of the Lac-Saint-Jean Anorthositic Suite, specifically the Discovery, Gravi, and MHY mineralized zones on Coniagas’s Graal Property. The team previously mapped and studied data from these areas in 2024 and recently examined drill core samples.
Planned activities for the coming months include an airborne EM-mag survey, diamond drilling, integrating UQAC research into exploration, and continued permitting and stakeholder engagement.
Frank Basa, Coniagas CEO, stated the partnership exemplifies how academic research can accelerate mineral discovery. Dr Renée-Luce Simard, from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi, hopes the findings will offer a clearer picture of the processes that formed copper and nickel deposits at Graal.
